Chiffon is a lightweight balanced plain woven sheer fabric woven of alternate S and Z twist crepe yarns. Under a magnifying glass chiffon resembles a fine net or mesh which gives it some transparency. It is also popular fabric used in floaty gowns, blouses, ribbons, scarves and lingerie.
Crepe is a lightweight fabric of silk, cotton or any other fiber with a finely crinkled or a ridged surface.
Satin is a weave that typically has a glossy surface and dull black. It is characterized by four or more full or weft yarns floating over a warp yarn or vice versa, four warp yarns floating over a single weft yarn. It is commonly used in apparel, satin baseball jackets, athletic shorts, women's lingerie , nightgowns, blouses and evening gowns but also in some men's boxer shorts, briefs, shirts and neckties. Also used in production of pointe shoes for use in ballet, other uses include interior finishing fabrics, upholstery and bed sheets.
